continuation of Coach Johnson-Kappe's bio
In the 2004 spring season, she guided a much-improved Grizzlies
team to a 16-12 record, which included an 8-6 mark in the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference (third place).  Moreover, a record
five Franklin players were selected to the all-conference team.

Johnson-Kappes graduated magna cum laude from Franklin College
in 1972, where she was a standout athlete in basketball, softball,
volleyball, field hockey, and track and field.  She is also a member of
the Franklin College Athletic Hall of Fame.  She was also the first
woman inducted into the United States Slo-Pitch Softball
Association Hall of Fame.  In addition, Johnson-Kappes was named
Player of the Century and All-Century Shortstop in the greater
Cincinnati, Ohio area, as well as being the recipient of the National
Association of Women's and Girls Sports Pathfinder Award.
